2026 BLOWOUT COMPETITION

You are warmly invited to take part in the Friday night competition. Open for soloist and group entries. The theme this year is

Trees & Wood

Each entrant may express this theme through music, song, their clothing and ways of movement. Rules/Guidelines

This will be conducted scientifically by hastily trained and underqualified volunteers from the audience.

All pipes should be made predominantly of wood. Preferably British wood. Pipes made of imported timber are allowed, but the piper will be frowned on. The degree of frown will be noted, but points will not be deducted.

In extreme instances there may also be an official knitting of brows.

Clothing should be worn.

Extra points may be arbitrarily awarded to contestants who choose to ignore any of these Rules/Guidelines for personal reasons or for practical matters of hygiene.

The above rules/Guidelines may be changed at any time at the whim of the organiser.

Mild bribery will be tolerated but not overtly encouraged.

Prizes!

Pewter Tankards and other Valuable Prizes will be awarded lavishly. This year every competitor is guaranteed a winner!
