In the Bag - Roger Landes

Roger Landes is Senior Lecturer at Texas Tech University School of Music. He is the founding director of TTU School of Music's Balkan Ensemble as well as the Caprock English Bagpipe Consort. Before teaching full time, he had a 30+ year career as a performer in a number of Irish/Celtic bands, playing the bouzouki, mandolin, tenor banjo and guitar.

Roger has researched the English bagpipe revival, as well as the interrelated revivals of bagpipes and hurdy-gurdies associated with the European dance music revival. He is the author of The Hal Leonard Irish Bouzouki Method, and the textbook Rock and Roll: The First Truly Global Music.
