In honour of Dave Shaw

In coming to terms with the loss of a great friend I am finding that a huge variety of people knew and respected his contributions to our lives for a myriad of different reasons. This homage is to Dave Shaw the Pipe Maker.

I always knew that Dave had a forensic approach to the science of pipe and reed making that required refining the mathematics, understanding the materials and extraordinary care in the engineering process. Every creative endeavour starts somewhere and around about 1977 Dave Shaw started making pipes.
