Welcome to Spring 2024 and another volume of Chanter, the 38th. This particular edition marks my 10th anniversary as editor! I never thought, when I volunteered to take on the role, that I would still be doing it ten years later and the way it’s looking, I think that I may well still be in post for a while longer yet. (Any volunteers out there?) I thoroughly enjoy the job (well, for the most part), and I have learned more than I ever thought possible about bagpipes and I’ve visited so many different countries, cultures, traditions and musical styles along the way....
