Review - Jon’s Jigs

Our president, Jon Swayne, is an internationally renowned bagpipe maker, musician, and, if that were not enough, prolific composer of new music for the English Border Pipes. Here, under one roof as it were, are all of Jon’s compositions with tunes spanning the full breadth of his career, from the very first Blowzabella album to the most recent. There are also tunes from Jon’s long collaboration with Becky Price, and others that never made the cut with his trio Moebius (his compositions for ensembles will appear elsewhere). It is a delightful collection, full of familiar melodies, those that are less so, as well as some curiosities, and one that all aspiring pipers would do well to study.
